Corrado Garbazza, MD, PhD

Corrado Garbazza is a psychiatrist and somnologist working at the Centre for Chronobiology of the University of Basel, Switzerland. He currently serves as president-elect of the Society for Light Treatment and Biological Rhythms (SLTBR).

After medical studies in Italy and Germany, he obtained a medical doctorate (Dr. med.) from the Charité Medical University, Berlin followed by a PhD at the University of Basel, Centre for Chronobiology, under the supervision of Prof. Christian Cajochen. He then worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Circadian Physiology Program) and Harvard Medical School in Boston. 

His main clinical and research areas of interest are circadian and sleep medicine. In particular, he has specialized in the management of circadian rhythm sleep-wake disorders and the chronotherapy of affective disorders, with a focus on the light treatment of perinatal depression.
